Accurately capture stringed instruments, percussion, drums, overheads, horns, and more with the SP-1 Standard Pencil Microphones from Universal Audio. Designed to be your go-to mics for a wide variety of studio and live sound applications, each mic in this matched pair of small-diaphragm condensers features a cardioid polar pattern for focused audio capture and can handle SPLs up to 142 dB.

Mic mounts with thread adapters are included along with a stereo T-bar that spaces the mics properly, making it easy for even inexperienced users to get rich stereo recordings. And like all Standard-series UA mics, the SP-1 includes the free Hemisphere Mic Modeling software, which allows you to model your mic response on several high-quality emulations of classic mics and control proximity, axial shift, phase, virtual filters, and more.

The Perfect Pair for Stereo Recording

As a matched stereo pair, the SP-1 adds clarity, width, and dimension to your recordings. Whether it’s tight X/Y patterns or spaced pairs, combine them how you want and hear the detail in your instrument like never before.

Capture Your Best Sounds Anywhere

The SP-1’s classic cardioid design, high SPL tolerance, and smooth, clear top end deliver consistently clean capture of acoustic guitars, drum overheads, percussion, horns, and more—at any volume, in any environment.

More than Your Average Pencil Mics

The SP-1 condensers were engineered to be your workhorses, everyday choice for stereo recording. With a retro finish that exudes vintage elegance and a road-worthy build, these stylish condensers look as good as they sound and are built to last.

Sound Like the Pros with Apollo Interface Presets

Take the guesswork out of getting professional sounds with custom Apollo SP-1 presets. Get the perfect EQ settings for adding shimmer to cymbals, or bolster horns and stringed instrument recordings with rich stereo sound.

Authentic Mic Modeling Made Simple

Using the same award-winning tech as the UA Sphere modeling microphones, the included Hemisphere mic modeling plug-in gives your studio the authentic sound of essential, classic mics from AKG and Neumann, in real time, with Apollo or natively in your DAW. You can also shape the sound of your recordings using filter, proximity, and axis controls, even after tracking.
