Universal Audio SD-7 Dynamic Microphone with Hemisphere Modeling

Add vintage sound and a vintage look to your live-sound and studio-recording setup with the Universal Audio SD-7, a hypercardioid dynamic microphone featuring a rugged all-metal construction and a cool retro look. The SD-7’s hand-selected dynamic capsule can handle extreme SPL, while the tight, hypercardioid polar pattern greatly rejects off-axis sounds, making the mic ideal for percussive instruments with mid-frequency range, such as toms, drums, horns, guitar/bass amp cabinets, and more.

The SD-7 uses UA’s award-winning Hemisphere Microphone Modeling technology to give you the authentic sound of iconic dynamic mics from Shure, Sennheiser, AKG, and more, in real time, with Apollo or natively in your DAW (using the included Hemisphere plug-in). You can also shape the sound of your recordings using filter, proximity, and axis controls—even after tracking—and get album-ready results, fast.
