RCF 8X6 Digital Audio Matrix Mixer

It features a 8×6 matrix, where 8 universal MIC-LINE inputs and 6 outputs can be processed through a large number of audio parameters, such as parametric equalizers, compressors, gates, limiters, delays, duckers, priorities, auto-mixer. The Automatic Level Control facility is also available, a probe can be connected on input 8, in order to automatically adjust the volume level according to the environmental noise measured.

• 40-bit floating point processing DSP and 48 kHz 24-bit HI-Q Analogue/Digital Conversion, dynamic range > 112 dB.
• 8 universal inputs with 48V phantom facility and full audio processing, 6 outputs 4 of these are balanced on detachable Euroblock terminals while the 2 remaining are available as RCA plugs, all outputs provide a full audio processing.
• 10 programmable logic inputs (GPI), 6 programmable logic outputs (GPO), 2 of which supported by relay.
• Configurable parametric EQs, gates, compressors, limiters, delays, priority levels, automatic gain control, levels, gains on in-out and cross points, auto-mixer operations, filters.
• Each unit can work as dual-room combiner with independent auto-mixer facility for each room.
• Configurable ALC (Automatic Level Control) facility by using Input 8 to connect a noise detection microphone. The control is then assignable to any output or group of outputs.

MZ 8060 is able to receive 10 logic inputs (GPI) and send 6 logic outputs (GPO), assignable. 2 of these outputs are operated by a relay. A serial port can be set to control the unit from a third party system (e.g. Crestron and AMX). Moreover, it is possible to link two MZ 8060 (in master-slave configuration) to create a 16-input 12-output matrix. A slot on the rear panel allows the integration of an optional RCF RDNet module, to access MZ 8060 through an RDNet control network. Up to 12 paging consoles BM 3003 can be daisy-chained to the dedicated RJ 45 input, alternative on input 1.

The front panel integrates several LED indicators to allow the supervision of the audio input and output activities. A dedicated PC Control Software, embedded into RDNet environment is available for unit setup and control: if the optional RDNet module is not installed, a standard USB connector is located on the front panel. It is suitable for 19″ rack mounting (1U). MZ 8060 uses a 50W power supply, 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz.

System’s Expandability
The possibility to link 2 MZ 8060 units and create a create a 16-input 12-output matrix, through dedicated serial ports to several digital control interfaces, enhances a lot the versatility of the device and the number of potential applications.

Remote Controls
Dedicated TS 9918 touch sensitive flat remote(s) can be used as simple control for devices in several projects or as additional local controls in larger installations, where a networked centralized control system is required.

RDNet Inside
Thanks to the optional module, RDNet facility also offers a very simple and detailed real-time accessibility and monitoring for any of the enabled product throughout the whole installation.

Inputs
MZ 8060 has 8 universal MIC-LINE inputs with selectable 48V phantom power on detachable Euroblock connectors, 4 of which are also pre-sent on RCA plugs. Up to 12 paging microphones (model BM 3003) can be daisy-chained to the dedicated RJ 45 connector, which can be used as an alternative to input 1. Each of the 3 selection buttons can be configured to page zones or groups of zones. The consoles are interlocked on the same audio line and report in-use and busy indications.

Outputs
MZ 8060 has 6 outputs 4 of these are balanced on detachable Euroblock terminals while the 2 remaining are available as RCA plugs.

Main
This section shows a global view of INPUTS and OUTPUTS. When two units are linked, the tab on the right side of the screen allows to switch from MASTER and SLAVE unit and configure related parameters.

Equalizer
It is possible to set up to 6 independent filters For each filter, frequency and gain can be adjusted either graphically by dragging the little colored square or in an analytical way (by inserting the values in the cells). The overall equalization is shown as a red line, the intervention of the selected filter as a green line, the intervention of a filter that is not selected as a white line.

Compressor
The compressor does not modify a signal having a level lower than the predetermined threshold and compresses a signal with higher level.
THRESHOLD and RATIO values can be adjusted either by moving the respective faders or dragging (with the mouse) the red points in the graph.

Noise Gate
The noise gate automatically reduces an audio input level when its signal is below the defined threshold (or absent). It allows to either mute a channel when no signal is detected at its input or open it when necessary.

Automatic Level Control (ALC)
This function automatically adjusts the level of one or more audio outputs according to the detected ambient noise. If ALC is enabled, the audio input no.8 is reserved for the microphone used as noise detector and its red ALC indication lights up (below the signal level bar). Note: set the input 8 to MIC and adjust its sensitivity according to the microphone type. When the ambient noise (detected by the microphone linked to the input 8) is above the threshold, all audio outputs keep their current level.

The 6 audio outputs (A-F) of the MASTER unit are on the right of the software main window.

Mixer Matrix Section
MIXER MATRIX is the audio matrix where nodes can be managed.

GROUPS SECTION
A ‘group’ is a setting that includes some audio inputs and outputs. Any event (e.g. the activation of a GPI logic input) that refers to a group simultaneously acts on all audio inputs and outputs assigned to that group.

Force On/off Section
This function allows to either increase (FORCE ON) or reduce (FORCE OFF) an input level forcedly.

GPI/GPO Section (Logic Inputs And Outputs)
On each unit (or on the MASTER unit), it is possible to set up to 10 logic inputs (GPIN), 4 logic outputs (GPOUT) plus 2 (RL1, RL2) with relay.

Remote Controls Section
It is possible to configure up to 8 TS 9918 remote controls for the MASTER unit.
Each TS 9918 remote control shall have a digital address different from those already engaged.
