Small in size, big in sound. Light, affordable, and packed with premium features, the NUS310 is the best entry-level ukulele in the market today. Thanks to its warm sound, low maintenance, and flawless intonation, the NUS310 is a perfect instrument for a beginner and a quality addition to a large ukulele collection.

Sapele is a light hardwood from tropical Africa with a golden to dark reddish brown colour, which we painted black to produce a different and striking look. A close relative of mahogany, its grain is interlocked, and has a uniform texture and good natural luster. Its natural resonance is boosted and concentrated by the arched back of this ukulele, yielding a clear and bright tone. The rosettes in all our ukuleles are drawn by hand and engraved by laser.

The neck and fingerboard of the NUS310 Blackbird are made from African okoume and composite wood. Composite wood is an eco-friendly material, which is increasingly used in instrument making, because it helps to preserve tropical rainforests. It’s a great combination that guarantees a stable intonation across the fretboard, is gentle to your hands, and looks great as well.

Of course, it is good to learn how to play the ukulele without using a strap, but why not use a strap and you can have it both ways? A strap makes holding the ukulele easier so you can keep playing for hours. It also allows you to be ‘hands free’ between songs. We at Flight care about the comfort of our Flighters, which is why we started adding strap buttons to all Flight ukes!

We have changed the nut to high-quality black pps one, so that everything on this ukulele stays black.

Headstock design is an integral part of our identity. All Flight ukuleles feature a carefully-designed headstock fitted with geared tuners that will always stay in tune. We chose black tuners, as well as black Aquila strings.
